Description

Female USB-C PD to 19V+ 2.1mm Barrel Tip Male

Step-Up Power Tips are part of a new range of power products from myVolts that lets you power your gear from USB-C. They are small tips that fit on the end of a USB-C cable, changing the output and size so you can power gear that uses voltages other than 5V from USB. This gives freedom and flexibility to your setups, letting you play wherever you are.

You can make your gear setup mobile, powering from a USB-C power bank instead of the wall. If you're travelling, you don't have to worry about international plugs and adaptors.

The Step-Up takes advantage of protocols called PD (Power Delivery) and QC (Quick Charge) present in USB power sources. These protocols allow a device to request a certain voltage (5V, 9V, 12V and even 15V or 20V in some cases) from a USB port. A Step-Up Power Tip connects to the power source, requests the voltage needed by your gear, and supplies it. Step-Up handles up to 100W - however, will only deliver what the PD / QC Source it's connected to can provide, so you do need to check the spec of your power source.

FAQ

No. It must be a PD or QC-enabled USB port / power bank.
If you plug it into a port not PD or QC enabled, it will only output 5V, so won't power your device.

The USB-C cable must be able to carry the wattage the device needs. Some cheap cables will not be able to carry the wattage, so we recommend you check the spec to ensure it can carry up to 60W. If a cheap USB-C cable is used, some voltage drop might happen. Also, when using a cheap cable without an E-Marker (a tiny smart chip inside the cable), the power transmission will be limited to 60W.
